Down to Earth - May 2022

These earthy colours bring out feelings of warmth, comfort and cosiness - as they should! What do we think of when we think of the Earth? Blue seas, green fields, white snow, red land. But the Earth is more than beautiful nature and stunning scenery - Earth is our home. Home, where our sense of security stems from, where we are grounded, where we feel safe.

 

Our livelihoods, our health and our future all depend on how we treat our home, our Earth.

 

In this series, I combine the grounding nature of these earthy colours and sweeping, gushing strokes to symbolise just how fluid and changeable life can be and how we’ve taken our home for granted. We need to stay attentive, informed and mindful of how we treat our planet. Some impacts of climate change are already irreversible… and we can all do more to help. Shop here.
